1980 Something

Well the day I’ve been stressing about for weeks and weeks is almost here – and funny thing is, I’m not even all that stressed out about it. My parents surprise 25th wedding anniversary party is tomorrow. I’m beyond excited for it!

I met up with a few of my aunts and a cousin and we went to the hall this morning to decorate. We used burgandy and dusty rose for a these because they were their wedding colours. Each table has little happy 25th confetti, little silver rings and flutes. The center pieces are picture frames with photos from the wedding and two votive candles on either side. The tables look adorable.

I have to pick up the cake and flower arrangement for my mom and dad’s table in the morning and take it out to the hall. Dj is showing up at 730 to set up and people will start to arrive between 8 and 830! I’m so excited! Other than the fact that I’m sick. I went to the docs this morning. She gave me antibiotics so I hope they kick in soon. After months of planning, I’d like to actually be able to enjoy the party tomorrow night.

Here’s a new look for 1980somthing – just a temporary premade layout, this is the first premade layout I’ve ever used in my life – I just don’t have the resources to create one until I’m complete settled in at my new house and have my internet hooked up – Hopefully next week I can start to code a new layout!

The house is coming along for sure – all my rooms are set up now, expect for my living room. I still need to bring the other couch and the entertainment stand, and then Dad and I have to go TV shopping, then all I need to do is call to get my internet set up, and have my satelite dish installed. Here’s a sneak peak to our bedroom – ignore the terrible picture quality, it was taken with my blackberry. Once I get completely settled, I’ll take high quality pictures of my entire apartment.

Well, the last 7 days of my life have been quite interesting. Last Wednesday I viewed an apartment without much hope – I’ve been searching since April and havent found anything I’m interested in. Well this place, I absolutely adored. I snapped a few pictures on my Blackberry and sent them off to my boyfriend since he wasn’t able to see the place – he told me to go ahead and fill out the application. So I dropped it off Thursday morning. The landlords called my references Friday and e-mail Friday night asking for us to come in Saturday morning so Mark could see the place. Well, we got there, and they handed us the lease!

So we signed the lease, I went to the bank for first and last, and we met up with them on Sunday to exchange money and they gave me the keys. I went home and started packing and my dad helped me load his truck and I started moving in.

Its crazy how quickly this has all happened. Monday I called to have all my utilities switched into my name as of the 1st.

Its now Wednesday and the majority of my stuff is moved in – my bedroom is completely finished, except Mark needs to move his clothes in – but he’s out of town for work until Friday night. The bathroom is done – just need a curtain, towel rack, and bath mat. The kitchen is completely unpacked – food and all. And my living room is partially moved in. All I need is to pick up the entertainment stand, surround sound, tv, and other couch and we’ll be all set. I still have to have picture frames and paintings and other decorative items but that will come over time.

I spent my first night sleeping there last night. Its creepy being in a new places alone for the first few days. I slept with most of my lights on, and all my doors double locked and all my blinds shut. And when I shut off my bedroom light, I practically leapt into my bed, lol, so silly. I was exhausted so I fell asleep almost instantly and I work up at 4am for two seconds and fell right back asleep. Yay for surviving my first night!!

Looks like my down time is over. Couldn’t access my domain all afternoon :( but we’re up now. If work is slow tomorrow (its been soo slow for the last month!) I’ll see if I can get some inspiration for a new layout. I certainly friggen need it, that’s for damn sure.

I’m laying in bed, blogging from my blackberry. I went to my Zumba class tonight with the girls. I love that class so much. Its so fun and such a killer workout. I think I must have twisted my leg the wrong way because my right hip hurts all the way down to my ankle. I’m having a hard time getting comfortable :( I’ve tried stretching but its so painful. Maybe I’ll pop a couple of Tylenol muscle and join pain pills and see how I feel in the morning. I don’t want to miss tomorrow’s gym sesh because of a bum leg :(

Its late and I work early so I best get some sleep. Good night world, sleep tight.

I’m experiencing a bit of downtime unfortunately. Glad to see I can still post from my Blackberry as I learned last night. I wanted to make a few updates. Guess I’ll have to wait until we’re back up and running!

I honestly suck at operating an active website lately. I used to blog continuously and I had a pretty populated site, and now it’s just gone to shit. I haven’t even been active on the forrums I post at. I fail, facepalm.

I plan on revamping this site over the next few weeks. New layout, new content, some of my photography, etc. I also downloaded the WordPress app onto my Blackberry, so once I figure out how that works, I’ll be blogging more often.

Stay tuned folks, 1980something will be making a comeback :)
